What can the library do for you?

I've started researching Scope and sequencing documents in order to develop one of my own for our library. This is such a grey area in the internet world. I thought there would be heaps of information regarding this. What I have found is American and extremely long. I don't have time to go through it all and get from it what I need. I tried to print one and it was hundreds of pages so I had to cancel it. I think it would have had a lot of valuable information but being so long its just not viable to print or take the time to read it. I know a little of what needs to be covered but do not really know how to structure it and get it to fit within the guidelines set by the school as well. Although there is some great information out there on this topic and it now reading it and putting what I need into some order and structure....it's going to be a long process...til I have some time again

Book less holidays

The holidays are nearly over and sadly I must report that at this stage they have book less. I have not even had five minutes to read as yet. I bought the last book in Alyson Noel's Immortals series (Everlasting). I think i've read one chapter which is surprising considering how desperate I was to buy it and read it. I should get to read a little this arvo and over the weekend before I head back to work on Monday. I also have many other books to read and finish reading but I've got a bit of time left in the year yet. I don't think at this stage i'll make the 100 books goal but if I get to around 70 i'll be happy. I think I better get onto some reading now! I'll write a some reviews when I get my head out of booktopia!

I read a book!!

I read a book over the weekend...Embrace by Jessica Shirvington
It was awesome. I could visualise everything in this book and for once didn't get distracted by the girl on the front cover....I imagined Violet to look like....
I also imagined Lincoln's warehouse to much like the show winners and losers also...but to go on to review this book a bit more....It was fabulously researched sorry about Angels....Violet is part angel, part human and is called a Grigori....throughout her story Violet meets many various angel characters and her interactions with them are violent and graphic and very intriguing....her relationship with Lincoln is also captivating and you want nothing more than for them to be together....there is also another male lead character in the book who Violet is drawn to much to Lincoln's digust....this makes for a lot of a tension and an edgy, compelling plotline.....it was a fantastic read....I could not put it down....I'm not onto reading the second book...and will try to put a review of that up also....til I pull my head of the next book.....Caz

My beautiful creatures book trailer

Graphic novels....

I read a Graphic novel yesterday....but don't feel as though I really read it properly...it was a graphic novel version of Sleepy Hollow so I knew the main storyline anyway....but in saying so I found it quite challenging to read....I just can't focus on reading the text and the pictures....and I think I miss so much of the story in the process....I did enjoy it but I don't really think graphic novels are for me....I find that visual literacy thing just a little too challenging....

Disappointment

I have so many books to read but am feeling increasing disappointment with starting some of them....they are just not catching my attention....and I'm putting them down and then not going back...I need a book that is going to draw me in again....so I completely devour it and not stop reading until it's finished because it's so good...it would be even better if it was a series so I could continue reading when I finish one book...although in saying this some of the books in my pile are part of a series and i've read one or two of the series and then have left the next one just sitting in the pile....I need to find something good to read and also maybe something adult and not young adult too....I need something a little more stimulating....anyway gonna go and try to least read something...even if I don't finish it....Caz

there is never enough time to read

I have so many books sitting in my to read pile...I'm also reading like five or six books i'm reading at the moment but i'm not getting anywhere with any of them...I start reading something and then put it down and don't pick it up for ages and then I find something else to read....I really want to read them all but there just isn't enough time...I'm waiting on some new books in series to come out and I guess that's part of the problem too because I don't want to read anything else but the awesome series....I also love reading on my Kobo but don't have all the books I want to read on there so I don't use it for awhile or until I find a good book to read on it....I have a few on that i'm reading and will be getting some more soon...If only I could just read all the time....if that was my job to lie around and read all day....what a great life that would be!

Shelfari is the shizz!!

I am totally in love with Shelfari (www.shelfari.com). It has so many books on it, including new books that haven't been released yet. My bookshelf on there is so full of books and my to read list increases by the day. Currently my to read list is 29 books. Luckily they are not all out yet, so i've got some time to get through them all. My account is @ the following address. Please check out my shelf and comment on my books, as well as on here.
I've also read quite a few books towards my 100 books in a year challenge and i'm trying to update it on Shelfari. I might add some here that I can't put on Shelfari.
Check it out! You will be surprised!
See you all there, Caz

I thought I'd share this picture of my cat Rosie with you all. She climbed in the bookshelf one day and I couldn't resist taking a photo of her. How cute is it?

100 books challenge update!

Well so far this year I have read four books. I think I have book pile that would be at least 100 books high so lets see how many I get through.

So far:
1. Mercy-Rebecca Lim (Interesting read, although a little confusing and challenging)
2. Beautiful Creatures-Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl (This book was the shizz. I loved it and am currently reading the second one!)
3. One of those hideous books where the mother dies-Sonya Sones (Sweet quick read book, written in verse. Didn't like the ending.)
4. Love from Greg-Maureen Stewart (Sweet quick read written in letters. It was nice to read such an innocent cute book)

I will add more and give updates as I read...I may even do some more detailed reviews at some point to.
Til I've read some more, Caz (escaping into a book)
