long time no book reporting

Hi all,
I haven't posted much on here lately...just got so busy with work and other things that I just haven't had time...I've been reading a bit so i'll have to put some reviews up on here in the holidays....holidays that are approaching fast....but not quite fast enough....we have 3 days left with kids and next week we will be tidying up the library....i'm sick today so miss out on the last day with kids but oh well...hopefully next week goes really quick and the holidays arrive soon...I also hope the doctor gives me something or does something to finally rid me of this pain...I hate having hayfever and sinusitis....its crap and it makes me feel constantly in pain....i'm over it....I need a holiday!

Am I here?

Woah....I feel very tired all of a sudden. It must be end of term blues.....only two weeks left to go....and i'm seriously feeling tired...i'm yawning at work...and there's still an hour to go of today....and two weeks left of the term....I prolly won't even feel like i've had a weekend.....there are just always things happening....i also want to finish my book....i'm reading Hunger Games....I need to also write some reviews up on here of books i've read....oh well...may do it in the holidays....

Feels like home

It was the first day back of term 3 today. It feels like I haven't been at work for so long but its only been two weeks. Its strange being back though because it does feel like home here. Working in a library is where I'm supposed to be. I had to take another colleagues literacy class today and will probably have to take them on Mondays for the rest of the term. They were so different to my literacy class and I felt like we actually got somewhere with the work.  I have to work out my LOL cats activity because I think that is going to be awesome fun and an activity that the kids will really enjoy. Anyway I can't write anymore now because I have to grab and organize a few things for tomorrow.

Bad layout bad design

I went to my local public library the other day as mentioned & I hated it.
There were no signs & their catalogue is terrible & not user friendly at all.
I had 2 ask to find the book I wanted & I hate doing that & even after that it took the librarian ages to find it before we discovered it in the new books section which was not clearly signposted! To top it all off then I had to check the book our myself!! What happened to getting service at a library if u wanted it. The whole library overall was an unfriendly place & I don't think I'll be going there much at all.

Other library exploration

I'm about to head to one of my local public libraries for a bit of exploration. I know its going to look so wonderful and have so many features that we just can't afford to have. Its gonna be difficult if I borrow something cause I have to remember to take it back or i'll get overdue fines. I've worked in a public library for nearly a year and I don't have to pay fines there because i'm a staff member so i've always got things overdue. LOL! I'll have to be vigilent in getting the books I borrow from my local back. At least its at the one of the local shopping centres and the other branch is pretty close to my house. I should check if the book I want is actually in still because there is no point going there if there isn't LOL! I also finished Shadowland the other day so now i'm patiently waiting for the next book to come out.

What a fabulous idea!

Today was the last day of Term 2 at work. No more kids for 2 weeks. Yay!! Seeing as I did not have much work to do today I got onto searching for LOL Cats for a bit of a laugh. I found some hillarious ones and had to make one my new background. My collegue had a fantastic idea for my literacy classses next term and I'm totally gonna try it. She suggested taking in some funny cat pictures and getting the students to make up LOL cat captions for them. They would have to write them correctly first, using proper grammar and spelling and then they could try and make them funnier by changing the grammar and spelling. I have some hillarious pictures of my cat doing crazy things or giving me funny looks so I'm gonna take them in next term and do the activity with them. I think this will be a really great activity.
I have got heaps of books to read over the holidays so hopefully I finish the reading challenge by the time I get back. I'll post some of my book reviews on here.

The Smell of new books

Today at work a number of new books arrived. I have began processing them and love the smell of the new book. There is just something about that smell and something about having new books in the library. Although new books in the library or for myself I find great joy in. I know it's pretty random and strange but the smell of new books is one of the best smells in the world.

I wanna be immortal

I'm currently reading Shadowland.
Its the 3rd book in Alyson Noel's Immortals series. I'm so totally addicted to this series. Its so much better than Twilight, although I only read the first one of that cause I got bored lol. The story in this series is intense and so much more believable than Twilight ever could have been. The characters are strong and very readable. I can't write much about it now but will post reviews about each of the books in the series thus far. Feel free to comment if you have read this series or have even heard anything about it.
